MASON!!!! Hope you all had a wonderful one! 🎈🎈🎈🎉🎉
Wow what a week! I'm kind of glad for today! It has been a crazy,
productive, heat wave kind of week! Though I am very grateful for it!
I am so very grateful for my mission! I am grateful for the people I
have met, the new friends I have made, the new things I have learned,
and the closeness I have with my Savior! It may be hard but there is
nothing that you can't do without the Lord's help!
So some crazy things that happened this week!
Sister Manson and I went to the chiropractor! We were popped, cracked,
twisted, and well you get the rest. And we were sore for a day or so!
It honestly felt so good! I LOVE MEMBERS! And they love missionaries
so much that they help us so much!
Tuesday! It was a very sad day! I said goodbye to one of my newest
friends! I know we will definitely see each other again. Sister Manson
showed me how to love the people even more here on my mission! I will
forever be grateful for the things I have learned as her companion!
(MY BEST FRIEND... MT BEST FRIEND!!!) saying goodbye to Sister Manson
meant that I was receiving a new companion to further along the work
here in the Fredericksburg/Chancellor area! (AKA one of the BEST
AREAS) my new companion is from Meridian, Idaho. You know where
potatoes come from! WHICH MEANS FRENCH FRIES!! YUMM!! She plays the
piano... She actually served here in Fredericksburg 6 weeks ago,
before leaving to go down to the Richmond area. While she was serving
here, her companion at the time went home early due to some medical
conditions and so she spent a week here in my area! So she knows a lot
of our investigators as well as members! Super crazy. My companion is
Sister Roundy!
This week was wonderful and we were able to see so many miracles! One
of the miracles we saw was visiting some less active members of the
ward. We had stopped by unannounced, and when we went she didn't want
us coming in... But she had asked us if she could take us out to lunch
on Saturday! We agreed and so we met on Saturday and while we were
eating she and her husband and granddaughter wanted to take us out to
Costco to get some food and what not to make sure we were stocked up!
Well they are so nice and love the missionaries! Please pray that we
can continue to work with them and get them back to church:) below is
a picture of the things they bought us! :) soo nice!
We saw so many other miracles as well! And I am so grateful for this
opportunity to work here in this area!
Yesterday (Sunday) we had some wonderful talks given. They were all
centered on happiness and about what truly makes us happy! Here are
some thoughts that I gathered!
- Scientist have said that happiness is genetic
- The happier you are the less sick you are.
- Happy people earn more
- The more you hug your children the more happy they will be when they
are adults
- The plan of salvation/ plan of happiness
- Money only buys you happiness up to your needs
- Three things that make us happy:
1- gratitude, be grateful for things - one of the greatest
sins is ungratitude. (gratitude quotes of sin)
2- forget yourself, and focus on others- Forget yourself and go
to work!!!!
3- personal worship; prayer, scriptures, church, etc.
Moroni 10:3-5, being grateful for God being merciful to the people
- To bypass spiritual destruction, be more grateful
The most miserable person is those who are obsessed with themselves.
Lose yourself in the service of others!!
I loved this so much and I know that as we lose ourselves in the
service of others we will be happier and receive more joy in our
lives!
I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially the Plan of
Salvation, or better known as the Plan of Happiness, truly does bring
joy to our lives!
I love you all and I encourage you to be happy! Lose yourself in the
service of others!'
Love,
Sister Pewtress
We miss Sister Manson!
I think he might be happy she's gone. Haha jk!
The deer on the side of the road!
