"ZION......WHERE EVERYONE KNOWS YOUR NAME & THEY'RE GLAD YOU CAME!" (Week 50: 8/15-8/22)

Wow! This was an amazing week! I could relive this week for the rest
live! Missionary work is truly amazing. Don't get me wrong there are
some tough times, but there are so many WONDERFUL times that you could
care less about all those tough times. Some tough times include; not
having any success, getting doors slammed in your face, dropping
people who aren't interested who you have come to love, and other
things like companions or just people in general! But the best times
are when all those things just work out! Those are the times where I
love my mission!

Didn't the Lehi tell Jacob that there is opposition in ALL THINGS.

"2 Nephi 2:11 For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all
things. If not so, my firstborn in the wilderness, righteousness could
not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor
misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a
compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs
remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor
incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility.
12 Wherefore, it must needs have been created for a thing of naught;
wherefore there would have been no purpose in the end of its creation.
Wherefore, this thing must needs destroy the wisdom of God and his
eternal purposes, and also the power, and the mercy, and the justice
of God.
13 And if ye shall say there is no law, ye shall also say there is no
sin. If ye shall say there is no sin, ye shall also say there is no
righteousness. And if there be no righteousness there be no happiness.
And if there be no righteousness nor happiness there be no punishment
nor misery. And if these things are not there is no God. And if there
is no God we are not, neither the earth; for there could have been no
creation of things, neither to act nor to be acted upon; wherefore,
all things must have vanished away."

The work of the Lord wasn't cut out from having opposition. THE WORK
MUST MOVE FORWARD!

This week we saw so many miracles and we invited many to draw nearer
to the Savior. One thing that was super amazing was a lesson with an
investigator the sisters before me were working with. Gloria has been
taught a lot of the lessons and has been to church many times. We
taught her about the word of wisdom and well she has a lot of
habits/addictions that she needs to live before committing to baptism.
Well we invited her to live the word of wisdom and to give up her
addictions, and so we told her that we would give up something as
well. So we are all held accountable for the things we committed too.
Well she committed to her thing, Sister Roundy committed to not eating
after 8pm, Brother and Sister Milton (2 members who came with us) gave
up eating after 7pm, and well I made the brave move to give up eating
sweets! 😳😳😱😩 so if one of us breaks it, then we can all break it!
Hopefully we can all help each other! Wish us luck! 🍀

Another awesome thing that happened was that the Fredericksburg
Virginia Stake was split into 2 Stakes! We had Elder Kopischke and
Elder Calderwood; Area of the Seventy, come and split the stake. It
was truly a wonderful opportunity to be here and to see the gatherings
of Zion. During the adult session of the stake conference last night,
Elder Kopsichke talked about how all of Zion is unified, what Zion and
how Zion is formed. (Hence the subject line.) well he invited people
to stand up and to share their thoughts, and someone had stated that,
"Zion is a place 'Where everyone knows your name and They are glad you
came!'"

That is what Zion is. Zion is where everyone knows each other. Whether
we are in Virginia or in Las Vegas or to my friends in other missions,
we are ONE!

One other awesome thing that happened this week was we had interviews
one on one with the mission president. President Smith and Sister
Smith are so wonderful. So we were like the only sisters at interviews
this past Saturday and so we asked Sister a Smith if she wanted to go
Street Contacting for a little bit. So we went to the Walmart around
the corner and offered people cards. Well we had like 2 minutes left
so we decided to try one more person. Well we met Travis! He is a
super cool fella! He wasn't interested at first, but after a few
minutes he was super interested. It was such an awesome experience,
and Sister Smith was so grateful she was able to be there and to help
us!

I'm so grateful for my mission! This is truly the work of the Lord, I
am simply His hands. I am so grateful for my mission and the
opportunities I receive every single day. I know I would be here with
out y'all support. So I thank you. I know that prayers are answered.
That we are in His church.  Heavenly Father loves us sooo much! And
I'm so grateful for that knoweldge!

Till next week! Have a safe week y'all! Don't have to much fun getting
back into school! 😱
