"WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!!😱😱😱😳😳😳" (Week 53: 9/12-9/19)

What a wonderful week! I don't even know where to begin. Honestly time
is going by sooo fast. Not cool!

Okay so a lot of things "just happened" this week, and well it was
crazy! I think the funniest/scariest was the one last night. Some one
called he cops on us for knocking to loud on their door. Which we
didn't do. But they called the cops on us, 😳👮🏻🚔 and we got a nasty
phone call a little later saying to never come back.

The other thing is this transfer is flying by. We are already 3 weeks
into the transfer.(which are 6 weeks) how crazy is that!!

So this week I have really focused a lot on helping people recognized
the Holy Ghost. It's truly amazing to help people and what not.
Because while we help people, we in return get to be helped by
ourselves. (Mosiah 2:17-And behold, I tell you these things that ye
may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of
your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.) we were
also able to go to a baptism this week for one of the members sons,
due to having non members there! Amazing! And we got to see this young
boy receive one of the greatest gifts anyone can ever give someone!
The Holy Ghost is just great because it can truly tell you how much
Heavenly Father loves you and it can tell you right from wrong. And we
can follow him to always be close to our Heavenly Father! How
wonderful is that.

Well we have continued knocking out the city. We have met quite a few
people as we have been trying new spots! :) we found some people on
this street that didn't even know existed! Amazing how the Lord guides
you to the prepared!

A sad thing that happened this week, is that our progressing
investigator Wayne dropped us. He said that a member we took with us
to a lesson pushed him to far and he didn't feel like being taught
anymore. Not just that, but I guess people around the neighborhood had
talked to him about us, and we think he might have been pushed the
opposite way. Hopefully he comes to the knowledge again!

This week Sister Campbell and I got to better know each other and it
was good. Due to all the tracting that we have been doing. So that's
fun!

Well I love Virginia. It is literally God's country and well slowly it
is coming back to the fall where all the leaves are changing and it is
sooo pretty. It's going to be great because all of the bugs will be
gone too! (That's what I'm most excited about!) NO MORE MOSQUITO
BITES!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎉🎉

Can you believe General Conference is coming up? WHAT!? Crazy! I love
conference because we get to here from apostles and prophets of God
and it's just sooo amazing! How are you preparing for conference this
fall??

Well I am so grateful for the knowledge of our loving Heavenly Father
and for the opportunity that we get to feel of His love through the
Book of Mormon and other scriptures!

I love you all and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve
a mission! I pray all of you have a wonderful week! Talk to you soon!

Love,
Sister Pewtress

"TIME FLIES WHEN YOU'RE HAVING FUN!" (Week 52: 9/5-9/11)

Wow! A whole year ago, I set out on a journey that I didn't know would
be so hard, but it has been the greatest experience of my life! Yep
that's right! I have been officially out for a whole year! I seriously
can not believe I have 6 months left of my mission. AHH! I'm not ready
to come home. Can I just stay for the rest of my life?

Well Crozet is getting attacked by some sweet missionaries! This whole
past week we have been knockin' out the city. We have tracted pretty
much every single day. The reasoning is because we have a very limited
teaching pool! 😩 which is always extremely sad. But what's even
sadder is that where we tracted, no one was interested. I have learned
that you could tract all day to find no one, but you are being
refined, and you are having God trust you. Crazy thing is, is that the
Lord knows exactly where we need to go, but He sends us to these
places because He wants to see if we will work hard. Well we did that
all week!

But there was a real neat experience that I had this week as well as
other missionaries here in the Virginia Richmond Mission. So you head
all the time how there are General Authorities that come around and do
mission tours, well we had a wonderful guest come to Virginia! His
name was Elder Kopischke. He is originally from Germany, and let me
just tell you how amazing it was! The spirit was so strong there, and
I seriously was like another MTC experience where like the fire house
was just spraying the spirit directly onto you! It was soo amazing. So
many questions were answered. And he invited us to have 3 questions
and to ponder which one you wanted answer and to keep that in your
heart throughout the meeting and that you would receive the answer by
the end of it. It truly works! I invite y'all to come with a question
that you want answered, and go to church and ask God to answer it. I
promise that God will answer the question for you.

Elder Kopischke also talked about how to better use the Book of Mormon
and how to better work with members in the areas where we are serving.
It was truly very inspirational. And I learned that the General
Authorities are exactly like us missionaries, they only get one day
off as well, and that is Monday's. Other thank that they are always
preaching the gospel! Isn't that sooo cool! Oh and I also learned a
little bit of German! Haha. He was sooo cool! He even sat at our lunch
table and got to know us missionaries! Such an amazing spirit filled
day!

Here is a quote that's stood out to me in our lesson yesterday.
- "It is not the design of heaven that we be rescued from all
difficult situations. Rather, it is the Lord's will that we learn to
handle them."- Elder Holland

I know the Lord is aware of us. I know that He knows us each by name.
I am so grateful for that knowledge and for the knowledge of my
Savior.

I invite y'all to take a question to church. I know the Lord will answer it.

I love y'all. Have an awesome possum week!

Love,
Sister Pewtress

"I'LL GO WHERE YOU WANT ME TO GO!" (Week 51: 8/29-9/5)

Well.... Goodbyes aren't always my favorite, but they are a necessary
thing if we want to grow.

So, a lot of things have been on my mind this week. As you can see I
am writing about week 51 today and my experiences I have had this past
week, but this week I hit a huge milestone in my mission. I seriously
can not believe I have been out for a whole year. It truly surprises
me on how much growth and change I have seen. I am truly not the same
person I was before I came out. The mission has truly refined me.
Heavenly Father has taken a something (not so wonderful) to a diamond
(something beautiful). A year ago today I left my heart in a place
that I had spent 19 years, to go somewhere where I had no idea what it
would be like.

Well saying goodbye isn't just hard for when you leave your home, but
when you leave areas. This past week I left a place that was so dear
to my heart. Chancellor/Fredericksburg will always have a place in my
heart. So many wonderful people. Well I left there and got to my new
area on Tuesday! I am serving basically in the middle of no where
again. Haha!

Crozet, Virginia will be my new home for at least the next 6 weeks!
WOOOHOOO! So where is Crozet? It is in between Charlottesville and
Waynesboro and about an hour or so from my first area Harrisonburg! 💕
SAY WHAT!!???!!! Super amazing!

So we have a baptism scheduled and that's super exciting. :) I know
the Lord has truly sent me here for a reason and I know that I want to
follow His will!

This area is amazing so far and there are so many wonderful people.
Some people are crazy, but there is crazy people everywhere.

Here is one funny story that happened to us yesterday! We saw this old
man sitting on his front porch of his trailer home with a guitar in
his hand, so we decided to go and see if we could sing a song with him
(yes, I know I'm not that good, but singing at every lesson... You get
better) but he turned us down, but he said let's hear your message, so
we start to talk and then he brings up Adam and Eve and the whole
story of them! Well then he asks my companion a question and at this
point he was just talking and we'll just continued talking, so Sister
Campbell and I kind of blanked out... Well he got all mad and told us
to get off his porch and to never park where we parked again. He said
if we did he would call the cops and or I don't know what. CRAZY!

Ohh and I got a new companion as well! WOOOHOOO! I'm really sad that I
left Sister Roundy, but I know she will take care of Chancellor! My
new companions name is Sister Campbell! She is from St. George, Utah!
And has been out for about 8 months! She is soo fun!

I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know as we have
faith, (just that little seed) we will be able to feel of Heavenly
Fathers love for us! We will have the power to keep going even through
our hard trials. I am so grateful for this time that I have been on my
mission. It has truly been an amazing experience.

Thank you all so much for the support!

I love y'all!
