my favorite months. Reasonings behind that is because the leaves start
to change colors and we are starting to get the fall weather. And that
just means SWEATER WEATHER!! AND PUMPKIN THINGS! YAYY!!
So I just wanted to just share a little about how much I love the
Atonement of Jesus Christ. This week I have been able to really truly
see how I can better myself through Jesus Christ's suffering in the
Garden of Gethsemane, on the Cross of Calvary, and Christ being
Resurrected 3 days later. I am so grateful for his sacrifice and for
Heavenly Fathers sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son. Without the
atonement we would NOT be able to receive eternal life, or be able to
be with our families again. Not only is Christ's atonement for the
mistakes or sins we make, but our infirmities, our sicknesses, our
pains and afflictions, and many more. We are not perfect. Heavenly
Father knows that, but through Christ's Atonement and sacrifice we can
be made perfect! I have a strong testimony of repenting and of
partaking of Christ's atonement. It truly is for each one of us
individually and we can each partake of Christ's infinite love to
become more like Him.
One of my favorite scriptures is Alma 7:11-13;
"11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and
temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled
which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his
people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of
death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their
infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to
the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his
people according to their infirmities.
13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God
suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins
of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according
to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony
which is in me."
This past weekend we were able to have General Conference (where we
have semiannual gatherings to hear our Apostles and Prophets, and
other Church Leaders speak). We were able to strengthen our
testimonies and to receive answers to our questions. "How great should
be our joy?!" How amazing was the spirit that was felt throughout this
weekend? We were able to really learn and grow and receive guidance as
to how to become more like Our Brother and Savior Jesus Christ!
I am so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for the leaders of
the Church. They truly do receive guidance and spiritual direction
from the Powers of Heaven! I love being a missionary and I love
helping people repent and make covenants. Though there are always hard
weeks in the mission field or hard days, I know that Christ can take
away my pain and my afflictions as we truly turn to him and are humble
enough to ask him to remove "our bitter cups."
Oh also funny story..... We had a few more minutes on Friday night to
go finding(knocking doors) and it was about 8:30. And so we just
decided to go in our neighborhood. Well we got this prompting to stop
by one of the members homes in our neighborhood. We had heart attacked
her a day earlier, but we just felt impressed to stop by, well we were
there and she was telling us this story about how there was a mouse in
her house, and then all of a sudden a mouse runs across the floor
underneath a dresser.. AHHH! So we help her and Sister Campbell
vacuums it up and we got it and dumped it outside so it's not in her
house anymore. Well we called her today to see if we could borrow her
vacuum(not the same one for the mouse) and she told us that she has 4
more mice in her house. Poor member!! Please pray for her!
I invite y'all to remember the Savior and His atoning sacrifice this
week! I love you all! I pray y'all have a wonderful week and that we
can continue to do wonders among the children of God!
Ohh also, if y'all have any letters you are going to send make sure
you send them either today or tomorrow. We have transfer calls this
Saturday!! SAYY WHAT? Again? It's soo crazy! So yeah! I surely do love
letters!
