feel like it just started literally yesterday. AHHH. Well this week
was pretty awesome and we had a ton of miracles!
So some major things happened this week that I will never forget!
We had interviews with President Smith. And that is always fun! I
always love interviews because we get to learn and grow so much. Truly
an amazing opportunity to receive some revelation to better help our
missionary efforts. After interviews I was just so pumped to go out
and work my hardest! I think the fact that I am coming home in like 6
months, just kind of freaks me out. I really don't like it!!
So Thursday this week, we had weekly planning. Always a nice time to
see where our investigators are and try to help them even more. So we
were planning and then after we were planning we ended up going to do
service for a potential investigator. He is a super nice guy. We then
ran home because we had a member who was coming out with us, so we ran
home and quickly changed. Well as we were walking out of our
apartment.... I was kind of speed walking to the car and Sister
Campbell had this feeling to keep looking up and at where I was
walking. Well she kind of yelled at me, and said "NO! Stop. Stop.
Seriously!!!" And then I turned to her and said, "What, Why?" And she
said," THERES A BEAR!" Well I quickly turned around from where I was
at, (20 feet away) and ran towards our apartment door and my companion
was locking the door. I was like what are you doing. We are going to
get eaten by this bear. Let us in! Well we went on our way. And my
heart was beating soooo fast. I have never had it beat that fast in my
entire life. Well all is well, and I wasn't eaten by a bear! But it
was a pretty crazy experience!
Saturday we had this feeling to knock this one busier street, so we
did. Well the 2nd house or 3rd house on, we had this really strong
feeling to try it... Well we knocked on the door and this lady
answered and she said she was busy. So we just introduced ourselves
and she said that she was going through a hard time, and that she was
just very distraught. Well we talked to her and she had two kids with
her and they were soooooo open to the gospel of Jesus Christ. The
lesson/discussion went so well! We are meeting with them again
tonight!
And wow wasn't the General Women's session of a General Conference
seriously just AMAZING! I was able to take a question to the
conference and let me just tell you... When we go to something with a
question, like church or conference, or any meeting in general with
the spirit present, we WILL have our questions answered. It was such a
spiritual experience. I loved what President Uchtdorf said about
knocking the fourth floor and the last door. It's so true. We can't
give up if there isn't any success in the first two door on the first
floor. You never know who is prepared. And that has been so true in my
area right now. No one is truly ready and so we have been knocking and
knocking and knocking all the time, but we have to have the faith and
continue to keep trying!
I am so grateful for this gospel. Because of the Atonement we can keep
trying, we can keep going. We can always be forgiven of our sins. How
great should be our joy! Because of Christ we can be forgiven. One of
my favorite scriptures helps me when I am about to break. Because if
we have a strong foundation in Jesus Christ we can and we will be able
to resist the winds and temptations of the devil. In the Book of
Mormon, in the book of Helaman it says exactly that.
Helaman 5:12; "12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon
the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must
build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty
winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and
his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you
to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the
rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation
whereon if men build they cannot fall."
I love y'all! And am so grateful for y'all! Don't forget to keep
Trying. Be believing. And have the faith to endure to the end!
Till next month! 🎃🕸
Love,
Sister Pewtress
P.S. So our Mission President has asked us to not email past areas,
due to focusing on the areas we are in. And so for these next 6 months
I will not be able to email those in past areas. But I will definitely
email y'all when I get back home! Thanks for all the support I have
been receiving and can't wait to see you all soon!
