"RAIN OR SHINE!" (Week 56: 10/3-10/10)

Just going to send this again.. didn't have all the pics. Sorry
Well just a little update! We are safe and Hurricane Matthew didn't hit us to bad. So we thought that we might have gotten a lot of it, but we didn't. This whole week we had some sun-shiny weather and some not so sun-shiny weather. We had the storm roll across but it was just lots of rain and a big wind storm, so it wasn't all that bad.

Oh and can you believe I hit 13 months in the mission field yesterday?? It feels like just yesterday I was saying goodbye to y'all!

Sister Campbell and I have had a really awesome week. We worked our tails off and finally accomplished quite a few goals for the week! This whole transfer we have been tracting or knocking doors and not a lot of people are interested. So sad. There were times where Sister Campbell and I just wanted to give up. But a scripture kept popping into my head....

Alma 26-

"26 But behold, my beloved brethren, we came into the wilderness not with the intent to destroy our brethren, but with the intent that perhaps we might save some few of their souls.

27 Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to aturn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.

28 And now behold, we have come, and been forth amongst them; and we have been patient in our sufferings, and we have suffered every privation; yea, we have traveled from house to house, relying upon the mercies of the world--not upon the mercies of the world alone but upon the mercies of God.

29 And we have entered into their houses and taught them, and we have taught them in their streets; yea, and we have taught them upon their hills; and we have also entered into their temples and their synagogues and taught them; and we have been cast out, and mocked, and spit upon, and smote upon our cheeks; and we have been stoned, and taken and bound with strong cords, and cast into prison; and through the power and wisdom of God we have been delivered again.

30 And we have suffered all manner of afflictions, and all this, that perhaps we might be the means of saving some soul; and we supposed that our joy would be full if perhaps we could be the means of saving some.

31 Now behold, we can look forth and see the fruits of our labors; and are they few? I say unto you, Nay, they are many; yea, and we can witness of their sincerity, because of their love towards their brethren and also towards us."

Though it has been a tough transfer and I have learned patience, I have really turned to rely on the Lord and to be happy with the little things that Sister Campbell and I were able to do. We helped the Ward a lot, we seriously strengthened it. And as we have worked our tails off we had a wonderful/depressing call from President Smith, we got news that they were transferring both of us out!! Isn't that crazy?! They are putting a whole new set of missionaries into the area. The reasoning behind that is because Sister Campbell and I have both been called to leadership positions in the mission! And we are both super nervous, but we know that the Lord qualifies those that He calls, and there is nothing that we can't do without the Lords help!

I have loved serving here in  Crozet, and I will definitely miss it here, but I know that the Lord needs me somewhere else in Virginia!

I am so so so grateful for opportunities to strengthen my testimony and to help others and strengthen their testimonies, I know that I will definitely miss Virginia when I have to leave totally. Virginia has become my home and it will forever be a special place in my heart for the state and more importantly for the people I have been able to serve!

I will send you the address next week of my new place but until then have a wonderful week!

I love y'all! And hope y'all have a wonderful week!

Love,
